HOA Annual Meetings

11/30/2016

Tis the season of Annual Meetings and new Board Members joining the Board of Directors for their Associations! Diversified Association Management truly appreciates homeowners who volunteer their time to help their community, in an uncompensated (and often thankless) role. We also take our role very seriously in educating Board Members as much as possible to help them become more effective at fulfilling their responsibilities in their service to the community.

So what are the basics of being an Association Board Member? The Board of Directors is in charge of managing the Association, which includes:

  • Overseeing the business affairs of the Association
  • Employing a management company such as Diversified Association Management
  • Establishing a budget
  • Enforcing governing documents
  • Establishing rules and policies
  • Determining how funds are spent

This is by no means an exhaustive list of a Board Member’s responsibilities. In a nutshell, it is all about acting in what is in the best interest of the entire community. Diversified Association Management understands that being a Board Member can be both a gratifying and frustrating experience. We do what we can to make the experience as positive as possible.

With the Annual Meeting season and the holiday season upon us, Diversified Association Management would like to take a moment to not only thank the Board Members for volunteering, but also thank them for giving our company an opportunity to assist their communities in being the best they can be. May the New Year be happy, healthy and prosperous for all! Our team at Diversified Association Management looks forward to making each community better … one Board Member at a time!
